Background

Keziah, known as Kez (like Pez, the candy) was born in Boston where she spent her formative years growing up with 3 siblings, homeschooled for much of her childhood.
As a young adult, she spent 8 years working as a nurse in Haiti after she graduated from Northeastern University.
Growing up, Kez loved the outdoors and spent as much time as she could outside. Her family was always going on hikes, and as an adult, hiking remains her main passion followed by a close second, building hiking trails.
Starting in the early 1990s, Kez’s family would stay in a unique and beautiful cabin at Ponkapoag camp, in the Blue Hills, outside Boston. Still relatively unknown for being so close to Boston, the camp is a snapshot in time, with cabins built by local families at the beginning of the twentieth century. This rustic cabin from Kez’s childhood was one of the inspirations for Bowhaven Cabin. A little known fact about Kez is that she married Kyle at Ponkopoag camp, overlooking the pond, a spot she had dreamt of as a little girl.

Kez was a driving force behind Bowhaven Cabin, selecting the perfect site location, designing much of the framing layout, and finding endless tools and supplies that her husband misplaced.
She has designed, cleared, and built over three miles of trails on their property, trails that cabin guests and neighbors are free to enjoy. Kez has a remarkable ability to envision the best route for trails to create beautiful experiences. The forest is her canvas and she is an artist in her own right. Kez also hand made trail signs using scrap wood and a wood burner, so Bowhaven guests can rest assured that all trails are well marked.
Lastly, being a nurse, she is invaluable for triaging the various bumps, bruises, and injuries that often occur on a job site.
